The Man. The Phenomenon.

Tim Tebow came became a football icon while playing quarterback for the University of Florida. In 2007 he won the Heisman Trophy for best collegetic player in America. The following year he lead the Gators to a 13-1 record and a national championship. In 2009 his team finished 13-1 and won the Sugar Bowl in his final college game. Tebow had an amazing collegetic career and was a member of the All-American first team twice and the All-American second team once. Tebow played a spread option style of offense that utilized his speed and power. On many occasions Tim would keep the ball himself and run down field. Throughout his career Tebow was open about his faith and was constantly humble.

Tim Tebow was an uncertain prospect for the NFL. The style of football he played while at Florida would not be used in the NFL. Many pundits suggested a change in position from quarterback to tight end or fullback. Despite it all Tebow was drafted in the first round by the Denver Broncos and in his second year he was given the chance to shine. After the team started 1-4 Tebow was given the starting job. He did not disappoint  Tebow managed to guide the Broncos to a six game win streak including two overtime games. In almost every game the Broncos were losing and needed miraculous comebacks. One game saw Tebow complete only two passes. His tendency to play well late made him a national icon for the dramatic and his celebratory stance, known as "Tebowing" became a sensation. Tebowmania transitioned into the playoffs as the Denver Broncos defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in overtime when Tebow completed an eighty yard catch and run to wide receiver Demaryius Thomas.

Sadly, Tebow was traded that off season to the New York Jets where he was never quite capable of regaining his magic. After one season as the team's back up Tebow signed a deal with the New England Patriots but he failed to make the starting day roster and is presently a free agent. Though his time in the spot light was brief he was able to spread his message across the league. During his height of popularity some of the most searched things on google were the meaning of the biblical verses inscribed on his eye patches  He was not afraid to speak of his faith and talk about what was most important to him as a Christian.
